Infosys Puzzles

As part of preparing for the Bijapur thing, I spent yesterday trying to solve a whole lot of puzzles that are usually asked at Infosys interviews. Most of them I found straightforward but here are a couple that are more challenging. I didn't find a logical way to do these just had to try being creative. Answers are in the first comment to this post

In a 10 digit number, the 1st digit is the number of ones in the number, the 2nd digit number is the number of twos, and so on. The 10th digit is the number of zeroes. Find the number

I haven't cracked this yet:

a + b + c +d = d + e + f + g = g + h + i =17.
If a = 4, what are the values of d and g. Each letter taken only one of the
digit from 1 to 9.

pals, despo,
first, apologies to pals for being overly personal.

reviews, no matter professional or not, ought to be insightful, incisive, fresh, honest and sincere. for that matter not just reviews but everything we put down on paper.

let me pick up on the rules of grammar reference (which despo did not get). it is not in the narrow sense of sentence construction, punctuation etc. think more along the lines of thought flow. for example, despo's flow is often quiet. which is honest to his personality and has certain virtues. sometimes its sludgy and petty. mine, for example, is often labored and overreaching. sometimes pretentious and tacky. when i read pals' stuff the word that comes to mind is jangling. read alongside his earlier stuff (for example some of the chicago poem type stuff) this is distressing. earlier your writing reflected the quiet side of an extroverted personality. and you spoke so well. now?
